Stepping onto a new stone,
Treading past hurdles owned,
A faint breath still lingers,
Of the yesteryears forlorn.
Briskly walking on the road,
Leaving down all the load,
Merry light waiting ahead,
Bliss, the breeze stored.
New love and new life,
Yet the love of the strife,
Knocks on the door,
Of the memoirs that thrive.
No matter what all I try,
The leaves all so very dry,
Make the feelings of the soul,
All very gloomy and wry.
Though ardor now walks this day,
And my heart always sways,
Yet I am still stuck and stopped,
By this TREADING YESTERDAY.

Hi, thank you for visiting my humble hum.
The pleasure was all mine!
Lovely combination of words and picture. I was thinking something the same last week but, in the end, figured that with a sustained effort the needed breaks from yesterday could be made…but at a little cost.
I’ve been thinking about writing this poem since a very long time. I succeeded only few days back! Hence this!
Leaving yesterday behind, I still linger on the past….
Neither ahead nor behind, I keep wondering at last…
That it was all so unpredictable, so strange, so fast!!!
You’ll always be a wonder poet I’ll ever tread upon!
Beautifully written, much enjoyment to read.
I also agree with the sentiment.
Scott
